Welcome to Copacabana Surf Life Saving Club

Celebrating 56 Years of Service

Since 1963, Copacabana Surf Life Saving Club has been serving the Copacabana community and its visitors.  Located on the beautiful Central Coast of New South Wales, the Club started with just 14 active members, but now boasts over 400 members of which some 90 are active surf life savers.

Copacabana SLSC has a focus on enjoyment and participation at all levels, along with various competition programs for those that like to race! Memberships are available for juniors, masters, seniors and families, either active or associate.

This year a new category of membership “community membership” has been introduced by SLSNSW so we are inviting community members who haven’t been involved with us before to come have a chat with us and join up.

Surf Life Saving is open to everyone, no matter your age, gender, cultural background or even your swimming ability. There is a role for everyone in Surf Life Saving Clubs. The more people involved within our club the more the club can do for the community, our beaches and Surf Life Saving.

We offer surf rescue certificate (SRC) and bronze medallion courses throughout the patrolling season, with various start dates between October and January. This course will allow you to join our patrol teams on the beach every weekend or public holidays from the first weekend of school holidays in September until the end of April.

Our patrols are operated as a full day patrol every 4 weeks. Our club also offers an opportunity to be qualified in driving an IRB, becoming a trainer or developing yourself personally through courses offered by Central Coast Surf Life Saving and Surf Life Saving NSW.

Our Nipper crew have the opportunity to be able to train on a beach which provides different beach fronts every weekend. Throughout the years we have had many National and State champions come from our club. We are always encouraging the Nippers to do the best they can. In addition to the nippers’ session on Sundays we offer board and beach training sessions.

Copa Surf Lifesaving Club is now closed to help minimise

risk to our members and the community

from the Covid-19 virus situation.

We THANK all our members and volunteers who have devoted their spare time and effort either patrolling, competing, enjoying nippers or keeping our bar open. We cannot thank you enough for the time you give our club......

and a BIG THANK YOU to the Copacabana community for your continued support.
